FullFibre’s Fibre Heroes has invested over £6.7million to bring an ultrafast full fibre network to Belper, with the first premises now ready for service.

This significant upgrade to the current network means that residents in Belper will have access to fibre optic ultrafast internet for the first time. Full fibre is a more dependable internet service and allows up to 1Gbps download speeds that are 20 times faster than the national average.

The first homes and businesses in the town are now live, with services available through multiple internet providers. This latest news follows the recent announcement that Bakewell and Matlock are now live.

Belper is now one seven Derbyshire towns being served by Fibre Heroes, a wholesale internet provider with a mission to connect the underserved towns of the UK with superior broadband.

CSO of Fibre Heroes, James Warner, comments, “We are thrilled to be rolling out our full fibre network in Belper, and providing the town with an ultrafast internet connection. Belper will now be a leading UK town when it comes to digital services.

“The internet is an important part of daily life, and it has a real impact on how communities operate and the way we live our lives. We can’t wait to serve the local residents through our internet service partners”.

Local businesses and residents can access these new services through any broadband provider active in the area, including BeFibre, IDNet, Gigabit Networks, Link Broadband, Merula, OctaPlus, Redline and Squirrel.
