FullFibre’s Fibre Heroes has invested over £8.2 million to bring an ultrafast full fibre network to Retford, with the first premises now ready for service.
This significant upgrade to the current network means that residents in Retford will have access to fibre optic ultrafast internet that is much faster, more reliable and allows up to 1Gbps download speeds. The first homes and businesses in the town are now live, with services available through multiple internet providers.
Retford is one of many towns now being served by Fibre Heroes, a wholesale internet provider with a mission to connect the underserved towns of the UK with superior broadband. This announcement follows previous updates in relation to the network build where Fibre Heroes and Nottinghamshire County Councillor Keith Girling, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Asset Management from Nottinghamshire County Council, were on site in Southwell to promote the new network being built there.
CSO of Fibre Heroes, James Warner, comments, “We are delighted to be rolling out our full fibre network in Retford, and providing the town with an ultrafast internet connection. Retford will now be a leading UK town when it comes to digital services.
“The internet is an important part of daily life, and it has a real impact on how communities operate and the way we live our lives. We can’t wait to serve the local residents through our internet service partners”.
Local businesses and residents can access these new services through any broadband provider active in the area, including BeFibre, IDNet, Gigabit Networks, Link Broadband, Merula, OctaPlus, Redline and Squirrel.
